  1. Hi Rose!

I resonate with your connection with Sealie. I had a similar approach to this assignment and made a comic about Gerry, my beloved stuffed seagull. I appreciate that you chose a stuffed animal that offers you the feeling of security and comfort that Gerry gives me. I find that stuffed animals can be loved at any age. The bonds we create with them resemble the relationships we make with friends, family, and partners.

I also like how your partner in the comic also relaxes with Sealie. Even though he belongs to you, you both cherish his presence in the room. You treat him as if he’s another person in the room with you two.

P.S. As an art major, I loved the way you added texture to Sealie through your digital design! Nice comic : D

  2. Hi Rose!

Just here to say that I love love loved your comic!! The coloring, pacing, and panels all promote such a peaceful vibe. Sealie seems to have such a nice life!

I love how you were able to tell such a great story with few to no words. The changes in shading did a wonderful job portraying how time passes while Sealie is in the room, and the way you placed placed him back in that spot/stays in that spot, shows how that is HIS spot! That’s his spot, and he is a staple (and loved!) object in your room!

Overall, this comic is so cozy! I can tell how much Sealie means to you and all those that come in contact with him. Wonderful job!!!

  3. Rose, I absolutely adore this comic!! The way you capture the little things like indents left from sleeping (I always feel so bad for them!) and the change in lighting throughout the day really captures how Sealie is used in your daily life. Also much like Nikki says, I love how both you and your partner can appreciate Sealie. I also have a stuffed elephant I sleep with every night, and I will have him in bed with my girlfriend, it’s a shared sense of understanding that this item brings you security! I also love how Sealie also waves goodbye in the third to last panel, seems like a very friendly guy!
